They have an unusual body shape!
We came upon this group of 6 or 7 turkey vultures on our way to my parents' house one day. 
Little G wondered if maybe there were the inspiration for the Darth Maul character in Star Wars. 
They certainly won't win any beauty pageants, but have a certain sort of majesty when they fly!

aaack...love the bison...not so much with the turkey vultures. (they give me the heebie jeebies)
