Reading...The Inheritance

For about a year and a half now I have been part of a book group that meets once a month. This month we read The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott. It was her first novel, written when she was 17, but not published until later in the 20th century. It is a quick read and there have been multiple movies made of it. I would describe it as somewhat sappy.

PIE by Sarah Weeks

Pie by Sarah Weeks is the second book I have finished this year. It was written up in the free book newspaper they have out at the library and I read it to preview it for my children. A lot of new literature is edgy or has topics, language, attitudes, or situations in it that I'm not ready for my children to consume in large quantities yet (or ever). This book, which seems suitable for middle elementary school-aged children, is blessedly free of undesirable (from my point of view) content, and is a heart-warming story.
