MIA

Not much on the blogging front this week. I finally caught the kids' cold, and it wasn't the best week to be low on energy, with lots of baking to be done for a church women's event Friday night! I'll try to take some pictures and get them up in a day or two. And now there's a leak under the kitchen sink, which is going to thrill Geoff, who was already feeling a little overwhelmed to begin with.

I couldn't get a link directly to the post that most inspired me (scroll down to March 1st), but the cards on this blog are inspiring - something to try with the kids, who all need to make bday cards for Grandma tonight.

allergy season

It is the windy/allergy season here. Geoff said maybe we should move to Antartica, but then decided that wouldn't work because he would probably be allergic to penguins or something.

colds, teeth, skirts

Still in a cold fog, but regaining a sense of taste finally. The kids are all in various stages of it.

B has an appointment tomorrow to have at least 2 and possibly 4 teeth removed. She has been working hard at wiggling them out herself, but they are still there. Between the 5 of us we're going to have had about 7 dental-related appointments in 3 weeks here pretty soon! At least the three kiddos all get cleanings at once.

Found the directions for these fun little skirts here. If you can sew a straight line, you can make these.

Here is a little helper taking the pins out of hers. She dumped the whole box of pins on the floor twice in the process, but eventually got the job done!

Things are beginning to wind down a bit around here. We can see the light (that is the end of our usual activities and the beginning of summer) at the end of the tunnel.

My brain doesn't function as well when I'm sick, so this is all there is for today!

hibernation

"Nyquil take me away!"
I was hopeful that I (and the kids) had by-passed the illness that my husband had a month ago, but no such luck. We have slowly but surely succumbed to it, though oddly, it has taken on a different form in each individual. The middle child and I have it the worst at this point. The severity and length of this disease has led me to conisder the option of not going out in public again till nearly summer, which comes late to this mountain town. I realized that such a plan would be ineffective, since Geoff still has to go to work every day and can bring other illnesses home to us. Oh well, just a thought!

On a brighter note, our good friends from the valley came up for a visit today. Always good to have time with them. I sure hope we didn't contaminate them, but am glad they were willing to take the risk.
