Hello again!

Where are the weeks going? Wish there was time to post a few pictures and a little update, or some other interesting tidbit, but I really need to go to bed! We've had some computer issues in the past few weeks which have eaten up a lot of time. It has been a huge bummer to me to lose the majority of the organizational work I had done on our digital pictures in Photoshop Elements over the past few years (representing hours and hours worth of time, more than I care to even estimate) which has never backed up properly since the day we got it. Thankfully, pictures were not lost as far as I can tell. Any suggestions for a better way of sorting and tracking digital pictures?

While researching cameras online this week (something else which drained away several hours of time), I was once again reminded of what both a blessing and a curse it is to have so many choices in our generation. It is one of the contributing factors to the "busyness" of our society (especially if, like me, one is not a fast decision-maker), in my opinion. And that search was minor compared to the time and effort spent each year around this time in selecting and ordering next year's school curriculum!!!

Will leave you with the following new quote to share:
Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence. True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation. - George Washington

  1. Tiffani, I am kind of obsessed with tracking pictures and have them in 3 different places. I keep them on my computer in the program that came with my camera (Sony Cybershot, highly recommend it)and also I keep them in folders by year on a flash drive...I then group the flash drives by year in a ziplock bag and put them in our safe, then I also keep them on Shutterfly the internet photo company. So as you can see I am obsessed about our pictures...but you never know what can happen.

  2. Creative Memories has a great program called Memorey Manager for organizing and editing photos. It's comprable to software that sells for over $100 and is only $39.95, on sale right now for $29.95. My sister, the professional photographer, said it is great software and was comparable to her very expensive professional program! You can check it out here http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/pattypratt/includePage?jspPage=helpzone/manager.jsp. Let me know if you have any questions.

  3. Oh, and I already have my curriculum for next year but it will be my first year so I'm a little excited to get started. I'm sure I won't be that far ahead of the game in the future!

  4. Are you changing curriculums? We'll be doing Sonlight 1-2 for Kaylee and Hannah. We're doing Math U See for Hannah (K) and Saxon for Kaylee (2nd). We won't be starting until the end of August, Lord willing. I need a nice LONG break this summer! :)
