WWIII broke out at the crack of 7:00am, and I unsuccessfully negotiated it. But time apart seems to have cooled the tension and the enemies are currently allies (subject to change at a moment's notice), probably because they are trying to avoid school and violin practice which is something they both agree on. I'm not sure exactly what they are doing, but they are all in this picture and are giggling instead of exchanging harsh words...

Still doing my best with the "week in the life" project. It has been such a full and busy week that it has been hard to keep it in mind. I did remember the camera yesterday when we went to the doctor for G's and L's annual check-ups. Both of them got shots (L got 4!) so we stopped at McDonald's for French fries and ice cream afterwards as compensation. That doesn't sound like a very healthy treat after a visit to the doctor, does it?

Besides the blanket children, here's another snapshot from this morning out the front door. Not sure what they are digging today, but the house that is being built on the lot next to us is coming along. Well, we haven't accomplished much of our usual schooling the past two days. Among other things, we were trying to take in some of the city's science festival offerings that are only available this week and providing a different kind of academic enrichment. Nevertheless, it is time to "return to our regularly scheduled programming."

  1. Sounds like a great week - even if you're not doing the "regularly scheduled programming".

BTW, I took my kids for Blizzards every time they got shots - and I'm a doctor!! I figure getting through immunizations without doing damage to the office staff (especially since they were MY office staff) was worth a serious reward!

Have a great rest of the week.

  2. Oh yeah. Four shots is worthy of those fries! LOL!

It's hard for us to get back on track at times but I find that there was learning going on even if we didn't have "regular" school...
