First snow and more

It was kind of an eventful weekend around here, starting off with B doing a face plant off her scooter onto the pavement Friday evening before dinner. She lost a tooth in the incident. Fortunately it was a baby tooth that was loose. (So far she has not lost a tooth naturally...) It made me cringe to look at it the first 24 hours but is looking better. Poor kid.

Yesterday a group of ladies from church went kayaking. A few of us had gone before, but some had not. I think it was around 60F, cloudy, windy and sprinkling when we started. But soon after we got off the water and started our picnic lunch, it began raining and blowing harder and getting colder, and colder. Now some very minor sniffles and congestion are a full blown cold for me. It was worth it though.

Driving away from church this morning, I saw something dark on the pavement, and happened to notice it move. I have never seen one of these in real life (i.e. not in a cage). Way cool. There happened to be a lidded plastic box in the van that I dumped out and scooped him up in since only L was with me and the other two would certainly want to see him! We'll have to go release it tomorrow.

Then we ate lunch in the back of the van before soccer started. It's a long day. Their games are 12:45 - 1:45, 1:45 - 3:15, and 3:45 - 4:45.

If I can figure out how to put a picture as the header for my blog, it is going to be this one! Geoff took it from the soccer park. See the first snow up on the top? And the beautiful trees in the foreground!

  1. Oh, man, am I behind!!!

My sympathies to your toothless one! Those falls break my heart and make me cringe. =/

The kayaking sounds like much fun!

    Is that a tarantula??!! =0

4 hours of soccer games? Oh my! Maybe I should be thankful we don't have soccer around here??!! =P

    The snowcaps are gorgeous! =D
