My son informed me tonight that he wants to purchase a snowblower for his dad for his birthday (still 4 months away). Pretty ambitious for a 3rd grader who gets $1/week "allowance" when we remember to give it to him, which is about once every other month. It occurred to me later that there is some selfish ambition in this potential future gift in that he is the primary resident snow removal assistant. This after yet another foot of snow today. We have a hard time justifying such a purchase as this is the first year in many that it has snowed a foot even ONCE during this long drought here. Plus it is good exercise!

Hopefully we don't lose our dog out in the backyard! He loves the snow, but it keeps getting deeper and deeper...
