Hello there!

Several blog-able topics in my head, but have some things that need to be attended to around here before taking time to do that (like a variety of uncompleted projects, continung education, Valentine's related activities, etc.). I'll try to get going again on here soon!

At the moment, I'm trying to come up with a whole wheat bread recipe that uses all whole wheat flour and isn't made in the bread machine. Why? Because months ago I promised Sarah some bread like Grandma used to make and I am determined to fulfill the promise this week! (Bet you thought I had forgotten! ACTION!!!) In the process of looking for said type of recipe, I went through a very old box of recipes from Grandma. No wheat bread recipe, but a very educational experience which is one of the blog-worthy topics in my head. It was interesting just seeing what the headings were on the dividers!!! What we cook and eat sure has changed over the years. As has how we cook. Many of the cards just have a brief list of ingredients with no instructions. Everyone probably just generally knew how to make things. Having cooked a lot for several years now, I could probably make a reasonably educated attempt at some of the recipes, but being a bit of a details-oriented type (i.e. I like to know exactly what is expected of me), am sure it would be a stretching experience.

  1. My neighbor, Jane Cross (who also goes to Grace), has a really good hearty wheat bread recipe that she was going to give me. If you're interested, I could get you a copy too. It's packed with all sorts of wholesomeness.

  2. I love your blog Tiffany! Love the recipes, Kaya's dress, your thoughts, your family, etc. You are so fun!

I do have a recipe for whole wheat bread that I use here that doesn't require a machine--it uses buttermilk, honey and oil. We've had a lot of success with it. Let me know if you need it...
