Local history

We needed a little outing yesterday so we hit up the closest historical site (about 2 miles) - the battlefield. This was the site of the clash between the Indians and William Henry Harrison. Tecumseh had been trying to organize the Indians from all over the country to rebel against the whites, but his brother started the battle too early, from my understanding of it. This was mention in 1-2 paragraphs in our Landmark history book last year, and the site of many elementary school field trips for me, an annual fiddlers' festival that's pretty cool, and much nature to observe - especially lots of mosquitoes and poison ivy - both of which we amazingly managed to avoid.
It is also the site of this very fun creek as well as this swimming pool that is still in use and that my dad swam in as a kid (and it wasn't "new" then he said). My grandma came to this site for a UMC camp as a kid (roughly 1936) and the pool was there at that time.
