Pizza prattle and finished projects

I think I often miss some great stuff with the kids because I'm not really living in the moment. My mind is going a hundred directions, and not usually fully focused on them and what they are saying. But here are a few gems from L (4yo) who was helping me make pizza for dinner tonight:
"When I think of something bad, I close my eyes. When I think about something good, I leave my eyes open."

"Mom, I'm not cutting my finger because I don't want to hurt my sucking thumb."

The thing I put on my not-to-do list about a week ago, was to finish and enter the projects we had signed up to take to the county fair. It would have added unnecessary stress. But B (6yo) and I did finish making these shorts (and top) yesterday.

She was kind of needing some new play clothes. In this day and age, sewing often doesn't save money or time, but this particular outfit only cost a few dollars, and was pretty quick to put together

  2. You have no idea how impressed I am...I keep saying I'm going to teach my girls how to sew- and then I remember I'm not very qualified for the job! :)
