Field trip du jour, etc.

Less than a week left here now. This morning we went over to a neighbors and the two big kids got to ride in the sweet corn picker. It really throws the unnecessary parts far out to the side. This young man, who is a good friend of my brother's, sells sweet corn several places around town. It is really good.

This is a yummy way to eat zucchini, compliments of my brother, if you have an abundance.Slice it lengthwise about 1/4 inch thick, brush with olive oil, sprinkle with seasoned salt, and grill till lightly browned. Little G said he was "eating it like potato chips." (It isn't crunchy per se, but I think he meant easy to snack on and tasty.)My brother has been the head gardener around here for several years now.

Here's the gang headed to the back pasture.

The poster child ignoring meYesterday the poster child went visiting to the wolf park neighbors behind us. They know her fairly well as indicated by her name on the sign on the door (see mug shot below) when we went to pick her up. We're thinking they don't entirely appreciate her visits, but she gets lots of loves and treats when she shows up there, so she probably will continue to go. She has just been retrieved in the van. She was grinning at me in the rear view mirror the whole way home (but refused to do it for the picture).

This is what they like to do when they go to the back pasture. Uh oh, I foresee trouble.
