encouraging progress

Yesterday morning, I discovered that the scale was stuck at about 20 pounds COUNTERclockwise from zero. While I wasn't certain of the cause of its demise, I had a good idea who the responsible party might be. When questioned later that day, I was very pleased that for perhaps one of the first times ever, he admitted that it was he who had played with it till it was jammed (permanently). I rewarded him for telling the truth in hopes of encouraging more of this behavior!!! (the truth-telling, not the scale destroying...)
